A Mini-Update!

I love Sunday nights in January because that usually means DOWNTON ABBEY!

I'm getting ready to watch the second episode of the new season tonight and I'm already in bed.

How, you ask?

Well, I woke up this morning with a sore throat, a stuffy nose, and a fuzzy head. My wonderful hubby has been helping me with the kids and took care of them all after dinner. He's putting them to bed as I write and it's lovely just to lay down in bed and rest. I've even been able to send emails, reply to comments, and work on a new short story all from my warm bed! Thank you, dear husband!!

But, seriously, why did I have to get sick a week before my next Feis?? Ugh! I wanted to practice and prepare all week, but I think it's more important to rest and try to get better. I'm still planning to go to dance class on Tuesday, so if I'm still feeling sick by then I'll be taking some Tylenol and dancing away!  I worked hard on my Hard Jig and my Blackbird set last week and I'm feeling pretty good about them. The Blackbird can be tricky, but I've spent so much time on it and I want to be proud of it at the Feis. The schedule for the Feis is out online and it looks like the adults are dancing around 10:30 or 11 AM. Works for me, but we'll be packing up the kids in the car early Sunday morning to get there in time! ;) Now, the big question is, should I curl my hair like I did for my last Feis or leave it natural? Hmmmm....

In writing news, I found out recently that one of my older and dearer poems, "Songbird," has been accepted for publication by the very cool journal Mixtape Methodology! I am so excited about this and can't wait to see this poem published by them! I love the poetry they publish. Check them out here: Mixtape Methodology

Another older piece that I revised and edited will be published in the March/April issue from Unbroken Journal! I am also really excited about this one; I read their newest issue and really enjoyed it. Prose poetry is a lovely form and I want to explore it more. Here's their website: Unbroken Journal

I'm really enjoying working on my new short story, which might turn out to be a rather long story. For some reason, I tend to write either flash fiction pieces or really long stories. I need to try and write some pieces that are in between! ;) My novel still needs to be finished, but I like taking a break from it once in a while. Hopefully this will be the year I finally finish it, since I am getting close. Then, I need to revise and edit it, and then try to find an agent. So exciting!!

Hope you all are well! What have you, dear followers and readers, been up to lately?
