Grace of Sunlight

Grace of Sunlight A field of yellow-- Now that summer has come The grass has gone dry My hands are outstretched And I feel the dry tips of plants With my fingers My legs take me far And I don't stop Words and feelings stream by Like a river that propels me forward But I'm lost in its currents The sweet musk of jasmine flowers Hangs in the hot air As I ride my bike down paths not yet forgotten The trail opens itself up to me, It welcomes me Ducks swim by with their fluffy ducklings Plopping in and out of the water Learning to navigate through it Bees hum and hover among the flowers And birds trill out from the trees A turtle's head peeks up from the rippling water A silent hello, a faint recognition Squirrels scuttle through the paths and up trees The air is flavored With the refreshing bite of eucalyptus Everything flows through me Cleansing me and reminding me Of the grace of sunlight

A Full Day!

Today was actually hot! *gasp* I for one did not like it, but my sister was excited. We went to do some shopping in the afternoon and decided to go Green Tea Cafe for some fruit slushes. I got the mango slush with mango jelly at the bottom, and my sister got a peach slush with boba (tapioca pearls) at the bottom. The mango slush is so refreshing and yummy! The jelly was interesting, very sweet. I love this cafe because they subsitute soy milk in their milk tea drinks!! YAY! This was dinner made by my dad! He made lime chicken burritos with beans and Mexican rice. This was his burrito, with everything on it; it's a monster! :D This was my more modest burrito. I don't like beans or burritos so this just had chicken, cheese, lettuce, and rice. It was a yummy and filling dinner! Not too spicy either! ;) Aahhh, these are the lovely and cheerful sunflowers my grandmother got me yesterday! I love them! Perfect for summer! I went on a walk today armed with my camera, iPod, and cell...

Uwahhhh~~ I am still basking in the awesomeness that was yesterday. My love came to visit me by train and we spent the whole day together in my neck of the woods. It was our 4 month anniversary and it was really wonderful. I was able to show him how I live here, and we played guitar and sang for each other, which was very special. I performed some songs I had learned for the first time for him and I got all shy! When he went back on the train, it was very hard for me; I miss him so much. Luckily, I should be able to see him on Saturday since we are performing at a cafe in SF with some friends. I hope that works out! I will be able to read some of my poetry! :) Here is a picture of the cake I baked him. I love cooking for him; he likes what I cook, which makes me super happy. :) It is a vanilla white cake with homemade semi-sweet chocolate icing. I drew on stars and a little heart with some sugar gel stuff too. It's a star-cake! We had lunch together at my house, but then my dad wa...
